What all is included in the birthday package?
A free karate uniform, a birthday black belt they can wear for the day, an opportunity to help the instructor lead the lesson, break a real board in front of the class and cut their birthday cake with a real sword.
Will my child be fighting in martial arts classes?
No, your child will not be fighting in martial arts classes. At Premier Martial Arts, our focus is on teaching skills, not encouraging aggression. Kids learn martial arts techniques in a safe, structured environment through drills, forms, and partner exercises. While they may practice controlled movements with classmates, there's no full-contact sparring unless they’re older, more advanced, and choose to participate under close supervision.
What is mixed martial arts?
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a dynamic sport that combines techniques from various martial arts styles, such as karate, taekwondo, jiu-jitsu, boxing, and wrestling. It allows students to learn a wide range of skills within one comprehensive training program. Not to worry though, these skills are taught in a safe, age-appropriate way that focuses on discipline, coordination, and personal development, not competition or contact.
Is my child too young for martial arts training?
At Premier Martial Arts, we are experts at teaching martial arts. We have programs specially designed for ages 3 to 4, 5 to 7, 8 to 12, teens, and adults. Our instructors are trained to bring out the best in our students’ performance at any age. However, please note that ages 3 to 4 classes are not offered at all studios.
What are the chances that my child could get hurt doing martial arts?
Your child’s safety is our main concern. We use padded safety gear, abide by strict safety rules and regulations for instructors and students, use padded safety weapons and even have high-tech padded floors — all for the safety of our students.
I know my child will have fun, but they have quit other activities before. How can we keep them from quitting?
As long as a parent makes and keeps the commitment of making sure their child attends class once or twice per week, children will learn and excel in their training. Kids who train consistently will progress in martial arts and should have no problem reaching the life-changing goal of black belt.
What should my child expect in their first karate class?
Your child's first visit to our beginner karate classes will focus on making them feel comfortable and excited about learning. They'll learn basic techniques, practice following instructions, and discover the fun side of martial arts. Our instructors understand that starting karate classes for kids can be both exciting and nervous, so we make sure every new student feels welcome and supported from day one.
How long does it take to earn a black belt in karate classes?
The journey to black belt in our karate classes typically takes 3-5 years with consistent training. However, the timeline varies based on each student's dedication, natural ability, and attendance in kids karate lessons. Our belt system is designed to provide regular recognition and motivation throughout the journey. Remember, the goal isn't just reaching black belt – it's about the character development, physical development, confidence, and life skills students gain through their karate training.
Do parents get to participate?
It is up to you! You can join in if you’re interested; if not, you are more than welcome to sit back and watch.
How many kids can I invite to my child’s birthday party?
We want your child to have a great time! Our packages include 15 kids (don’t worry, you can add more!).
How long can we party for?
One and a half hours of fun and excitement! Games, activities, and a karate lesson will be included but don’t worry — there will be plenty of time for cake and ice cream!

Every child has what it takes to be good at karate because in kids martial arts classes they are not competing or comparing themselves with anyone else. Karate classes for children are more than just punching and kicking – character development training is just as important as physical techniques. Once we develop a child's confidence through our beginner karate classes, they can achieve anything they set their mind to. Our belt system celebrates individual progress, making every child feel successful.
Will karate classes make my child more aggressive toward others?
No way! As a matter of fact, we are careful to teach our students to use common sense before self-defense.
